self regulation and social problem solving group

This group uses Zones of Regulation to teach self-regulation skills and Behavioral Skills Training (verbal instruction, modeling, rehearsal/practice, feedback) to teach social problem solving skills. Children will practice and apply these skills through playing games with peers in the group. Skills covered include identifying emotions/zones, thinking about how others feel, compromising with peers, taking turns, working together, following directions/rules in the game, and managing emotions while playing. This group will have a maximum of 8 students.

fOUNDATIONS OF FRIENDSHIP

This is a group focused on skills that support making and maintaining friendships. Topics will include compromising with others, asking others to play/joining a group, perspective taking, handling social set-backs & working together.

anxiety and confidence building group

This group will help middle school students to identify and understand their anxieties through a cognitive behavioral approach focused on coping skills, stress management, and building confidence.

Weekly breakdown:

  • Define anxiety and how it makes us feel physically and emotionally

  • Learn anxiety reducing techniques

  • Identifying and exploring individual strengths and values to help build confidence

  • Identify anxiety provoking situations and explore coping strategies that could be used in those situations

  • Incorporating positive self-talk and growth mindset when viewing situations that are uncomfortable

  • Create a calming box to have at home

8 Week Program

Ages: 10-13 years

Meeting Dates: Thursdays from 5:00-5:45pm from April 4th - May 23rd

anxiety and confidence building group 2.0

This group is for student who already have foundational knowledge of anxiety and coping skills. The group will continue to develop anxiety reducing skills while working with each other in a fun and supporting environment.

8 Week Program

Ages: 10-13 years

Meeting Dates: Thursdays from 6:00-6:45pm from April 4th - May 23rd

Price: $350
